Today I want to share the perfect place you can plan for your next romantic cruise getaway.  There is no better cruise ship than Ruby Princess; which by the way was christened by Trista and Ryan Sutter of TV's The Bachelorette back in 2008.

You can set your romantic night wherever you look, from a relaxing couples massage from a cabana in The Sanctuary or a sweet serenade form a Piazza's singer.  This fleet introduced the innovative "Movies Under the Star" outdoor movie screen and the Caribbean Cuisine onboard.

What I consider FUN?

When someone talked about Fun, What makes you smile? Fun for me is having a blast in my Family Vacation. If you are planning to go on a Cruise Family Vacation, I strongly recommend you to reserve a Shore Excursion, not only as Travel Professional, but as mother. This is a must do in our Family Vacation Plan and FUN for every family member.

A great family option that throws in some “fun education” and adventure for adults and kids alike, is a Kayak Excursion. If you ever visit St. Thomas, I encourage you to take the St. Thomas Eco Tour. Here you'll have the opportunity to experience the natural beauty of the Island, learn about the mangroves, wildlife and the marine environment while paddling effortlessly on your Kayak in this calm protected lagoon of Cas Cay. Even if you are an inexperienced "Kayak-er", definitively this adventure is for you. This was my first experience kayaking and I manage to complete the tour totally satisfied and sure I'll do it again.

Another enjoyable activity your Family can have is a Sightseeing Tour, this are also educational and varied, with well experienced Tour Guides and specially on Cruise Trips where you have the opportunity to visit several countries. For example,  in Curacao a very famous tour is The Blue Curacao and Seaquarium Adventure, here the Tour begins at Liqueur Factory and ends at the Curacao Aquarium. Besides these popular attractions, this tour will also give you an overall impression of the Willemstad City Area, cruising through residential areas and enjoying a magnificent harbor view while driving over the highest bridge in the Caribbean, The Queen Juliana Bridge. You'll be delighted from beginning to end.

One of the first recommendations I give to my clients is to pre-reserve their Shore Excursions. It would be sad to find out there's no available space due to  are fully booked at the time of their trip. I learned the lesson the hard way on my first Cruise Family Vacation.

It's time to get in charge!

During my morning blog reading, this words got stucked in my head and I have to share them with you:

"if you want to travel this summer or fall, or if you plan on taking a trip over the Thanksgiving or winter holidays, you would be smart to start your planning. Many times your minimal per-person deposit will be enough to put your reservation on hold. This can secure your reservations, lock in a price, and offer you the luxury of making payments on your trip." by Christi Jourdan
True words! Nowadays everyone faces challenges, job layoffs, illness and even unexpected new family members. We usually plan what to wear next day, what we are going to do next weekend, what we are about to eat; but we fail on planning our next Family Vacation. There is no way to look at it, if we really want to get BEST prices, deals and availability the Sooner, the Better!

As Christi Jourdan states in her article
Now or Later? NOW!; we can stress enough the importance in booking as Early as possible. Do you know if you book a Cruise without travel insurance, you have in most cases, until 75 days prior departing to cancel your trip in case of an emergency and still get refund without penalties? Do you know there are Vacation Protection Plans that covers cancellations for ANY reason, and some Cruise Lines even protect you if you lose your job? There is no excuses for procrastinating about YOUR vacation. Travel is NOT only for affluent people, Travel is for YOU!

Family Travel, Why?

Family Travel is my passion. Having a family of five, could make people believe we don't enjoy travel and that probably don't have time to actually have a real vacation. I know every family group faces challenges in their Vacation Trips, but I also know where they can get the most of it, specifically finding an activity for each member. I always thought traveling was only for affluent people and newlyweds. I discovered how wrong I was.  Most people has busy schedules between work, school, sports teams and so on, sometimes the quality time given to each family member it's jeopardized. If you choose to travel by land you can visit a Zoo or a Museum, an Amusement Park, etc.  Another great Family Vacation would be going on a Cruise, here you won't have to plan much since is an All-inclusive "like" option, and you can visit more than one country in a short period of time.

My recent Family Vacation Trip to Disney World in Orlando, FL was for 10 days and we had great time.

There is nothing more rewarding than watching the faces of my children when they met Mickey Mouse for the very  first time, that day I became a 5 year older too. Let me customize Your Dream Vacation.

How to remember What I should Wear?

Recently I was reading an interesting article  Cruise Lines Dress Code; about What is the Dress Code on the different Cruise Lines. Why is this so important? If you are planning a Cruise Vacation, you probably want to take the most of it and knowing a few things before your voyage can save you some headaches. We all can have different opinions of what is casual, formal or elegant.  Let us then be aware of what Cruise Lines Requires us to wear.

Here are a few tips that can keep you informed and secure that you'll going to have the time of your life:

  1. No official formal nights - This is a great option for the ones that doesn't want anyone to tell what, where and how to be dressed. Cruise Lines with this policy are: Azamara Club Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line and Windstar Cruises. *Most cruise lines have written restrictions regarding jeans.
  2. Wear shoes all times - You'll be required to wear shoes in all main dining rooms.
  3. Rent option - Most cruise lines gives the option to buy or rent formal or elegant attire.
  4. Formal Nights will depend of voyage lenght - Voyages from 2-5 nights can have one formal night, while longer voyages could have 2-3 formal nights.
  5. Ask your travel consultant - Feel free to ask your travel agent/consultant any question you may still have regarding dress code in a particular Cruise Line.
The most important thing is for you and your family have a great time, don't let minor things like this one to keep you away from enjoying your "Dream Vacation".
